The perfect size

Basically, it is not that easy to determine the right ring size or necklace length. Especially if the jewelry is a gift. It is not uncommon for jewelry to have to be resized later, which can involve additional costs for you.

The right ring size

We recommend two ways to determine the correct ring size as accurately as possible.

1. You measure your fingers

You can use a so-called ring game to measure the ring size of your fingers. You decide which of your ten fingers you want to wear the future ring on. What's particularly sustainable about it is that you can determine your ring size yourself and buy rings anywhere you want in the future.

2. You measure an existing ring

Ideally There is already a ring that fits you or someone else well as a gift. You can measure this ring yourself using a so-called ring stick. What is particularly sustainable about this is that you can determine your ring size yourself and buy rings anywhere in the future.

What you should pay attention to when measuring:

  • Will the ring be worn on the left or right hand? The circumference should be measured on the exact finger on which the ring will later be worn.

  •  The ring should slide easily over the knuckle and be able to be removed again with slight resistance.

  • The width of a sample ring should roughly match the width of the desired ring. Wide rings often require one or two ring sizes larger than narrow rings, such as signet rings.

What we advise you against:

There are various techniques for measuring the correct ring size, but unfortunately they are all very inaccurate:

  • stencils for laying
  • ring measuring tapes
  • Apps for measuring ring size

The options listed are a poor substitute for a professional measurement. It is not uncommon for a ring size adjustment to follow, for which you will have to budget the corresponding costs.

Alternatively, you can visit a specialist shop:

Alternatively, you can visit a goldsmith's workshop or jeweler's shop in your area and ask for help. The trained specialists there are often open-minded
and feel free to measure your ring size or the size of a sample ring. Please make sure that the sample ring has a comparable width and shape to the ring you want.

The ring as a gift - e.g. as an engagement ring

It is particularly difficult to estimate the correct ring size for another person, e.g. your partner. The best case scenario is to find a ring that the person likes to wear and measure it with our ring stick (please note the exact finger). If that is not possible, however, we always recommend our JS material box . Please call us in the studio and we will advise you.

additional costs for ring size adjustments

Unfortunately, determining the correct ring size is always the main challenge. Please proceed as carefully and conscientiously as possible. A ring size adjustment
is always associated with additional costs, which should be avoided as far as possible. Please also compare our price list under size adjustment.

The right necklace length

We recommend two ways to determine the correct chain length as accurately as possible.

1. You measure your cleavage

You can measure the length of your necklace yourself using a string, e.g. in front of a mirror. Please take into account the neckline (e.g. dress/blouse/sweater) you would like to wear the necklace with. You can then measure the string again using a ruler. Please note that our standard lengths are always 45 cm, 50 cm and 55 cm.

2. You measure an existing necklace

Ideally There is already a necklace that fits you or the person you are giving it to. You can measure this necklace yourself using a ruler. Please note that our standard lengths are always 45 cm, 50 cm and 55 cm.

Additional costs for adjusting the chain length

Adjusting the necklace length may incur additional costs. Please see our price list under size adjustment.
